Sesame Seeds
Nativity: It has been widely grown in Canada ,North India and in Southern Mediterranean region.
Nature: The dried seed do not have any fragrance, but exhibit a pungent taste after some time of chewing. Roasted seeds (more grey in colour) have a rich, nutty odour.
Usage/application: This characteristic flavor is an essential component of many dressings and sauces world-wide. The pungency of Mustard only develops with the addition of water. Heat reduces this pungency and, therefore, to retain the heat it is best to add Mustard towards the end of cooking.
Medicinal value: Mustard is both a nutritious food, as well as a nutritious food ingredient. |
